Be among the first families we reach out to when we open. No commitment — just your spot in line.

No spam. We’ll only reach out about your waitlist spot.

Practical things that matter
when it's your parent.

Choosing care for someone you love requires more than a nice website. Here's what we actually do to earn your trust — before the first visit, and every week after.

Background-checked caregivers

Every caregiver undergoes a thorough criminal record check, reference verification, and in-person interview before being matched with any family. No exceptions.

Fully insured care

$2M commercial liability coverage on every visit. WSIB-registered business. Receipts for the Medical Expense Tax Credit and most extended-health plans — emailed monthly.

Consistent caregiver matching

We hand-match each client to one primary caregiver based on personality, language, lived experience, and schedule fit — not just whoever's available.

Regular family updates

Your coordinator sends a brief update after each visit. You always know what happened, how your parent is doing, and whether anything has changed.

Areas we serve

Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton, Halton Hills, Brampton, North York, Etobicoke, and central Toronto. Not sure? Tell us your postal code and we'll confirm immediately.

How quickly can care start once you launch?

Our target is to match families and begin care within 5–7 days of launch. Join the waitlist now and you'll be first in line when we open.

Minimum hours

Recurring care starts at 4 hours per week (one visit). One-time visits have a 3-hour minimum. We don't do 1-hour drop-ins — it takes time to actually help.

If your caregiver is unavailable

We assign every client a vetted backup caregiver from day one. If your primary caregiver is sick or unavailable, your backup covers the visit — or you don't pay for that visit.

Flexible & pause-friendly

Pause anytime with 7 days' notice — no fees, no questions. Your caregiver's spot is held for up to 6 weeks. Adjust hours or change your schedule at any monthly cycle.

14-day fit guarantee

If the first two weeks don't feel right, we re-match free or refund unused days. No risk, no hard conversations. We'd rather get it right than hold you to something that isn't working.

A familiar face does something
a stranger never can.

Good care isn’t a transaction — it’s a relationship. Here’s what changes when the same caregiver shows up, on the same day, every week.

Consistency

The same caregiver, same day, same time — predictable visits your loved one comes to count on without anxiety.

Relationship

Weeks turn into months. Their caregiver learns their stories, their preferences, the little things that make them smile.

Routine support

Meal prep, laundry, errands, medication reminders — built into a weekly rhythm that lifts the household.

Peace of mind

One person who notices when something is off. One coordinator who keeps your family informed. No scheduling chaos.

What happens without consistency

Every visit becomes a new introduction. A new person learning where the kettle is. A new face that, for someone with mild memory loss, feels like a stranger every time. It’s exhausting for them — and you’ll never get the relationship that’s the whole point of in-home care. Weekly is how we solve that.

Two ways families start —
both are the right one.

Some families know they want ongoing, consistent care. Others start with a single visit to see what it’s like. Either way, we work with you from there.

One-time or temporary

A Single Visit or Short-Term Help

When you need support now but aren’t ready for a regular arrangement. Good as a starting point — or whenever that’s simply all you need.

  • Post-hospital recovery support
  • Respite while a family caregiver rests
  • Trial visit to meet our caregivers
  • Temporary help during family travel

$45/hr · 3-hour minimum · subject to caregiver availability

Caregiver and senior sharing a warm moment together, holding wildflowers

When the visits become
something they look forward to.

Loneliness compounds. A new face each week never quite lands. But when the same caregiver returns, week after week — learning the stories, the preferences, the small jokes — something shifts. The visits stop feeling like care, and start feeling like company.

  • 1
    Hand-matched once, not rotated.

We pair your loved one with one caregiver based on personality, language, and lived experience — not just whoever’s free.

  • 2
A weekly rhythm built around them.

Tuesdays at 10 for groceries and a walk. Fridays at 2 for a movie and tea. Predictability is comfort.

  • 3
Family in the loop, not in the dark.

Your coordinator sends a brief update after each visit. You always know how your parent is doing.

How we find the right
caregiver for your family.

We don't rotate through a roster. Every client gets one dedicated caregiver, carefully selected for their specific situation. Here's exactly how that works.

1
We learn about your loved one

Through your intake form and a 20-minute call, we gather a detailed picture: personality, language preference, mobility, interests, health context, and the things that make your parent feel comfortable and respected.

2
We shortlist from our vetted team

Our coordinators review a curated pool of background-checked, experienced, and reference-verified caregivers who have worked with similar clients and match on key dimensions — experience, temperament, language, and availability.

3
A meet-and-greet before any paid visit

Your matched caregiver comes for a 30-minute in-home introduction. No commitment. If the connection isn't right, we find another match — at no charge — before anything is billed.

4
One caregiver, ongoing

Once matched, your caregiver shows up on the agreed schedule — consistently, week after week. We assign a backup from day one for the rare exception, so coverage is never left to chance.

What we look for in every caregiver

Vetted, experienced, and genuinely compassionate.

We don't require a specific certification for every role, but we do require a track record. Every caregiver on our team has verifiable experience working with older adults, passes a thorough criminal record check, and completes a multi-step reference review before their first match.

We also look for something harder to credential: the patience, warmth, and attentiveness that makes someone actually good at this kind of work. Our coordinators do in-person interviews and often accompany caregivers on early visits.

Some of our caregivers hold PSW certification or equivalent training. We highlight this where relevant. What every caregiver shares is experience, a clean background check, and references we've personally verified.

From waitlist to first
weekly visit — in 7 days.

When we launch, here's exactly how it works — no long phone tag, no open-ended interviews. A structured process designed so care can start quickly.

01
A 10-minute intake
Tell us about your loved one through a short form on this site. Care needs, preferred schedule, hours, location. No phone tag.
02
A 20-minute assessment
Book a structured assessment call directly into a coordinator’s calendar. We confirm fit, walk through the plan, and answer your questions.
03
Meet your caregiver, begin
A 30-minute in-home meet-and-greet with your hand-matched caregiver. If it’s a fit, your first weekly visit begins that same week.

Built on the boring,
important things.

Fully insured

$2M commercial liability coverage on every visit. WSIB-registered Ontario business. Documentation on request.

Ontario-registered

Registered Ontario business. Receipts qualify for the Medical Expense Tax Credit and most extended-health plans.

Your caregiver, plus a backup

Your dedicated caregiver shows up every week. For the rare weeks when life happens — sickness, vacation — we cover the visit with a vetted backup within 2 hours, or you don’t pay for that visit.

Privacy you can trust

PHIPA-compliant record handling. What your caregiver sees stays private — to us, and to you.

“At first, I was quite nervous — I didn’t know where to turn for support after my accident. But Hearthlane made the entire process seamless and comfortable. If it weren’t for them, I’m not sure where I could’ve gotten support like this.”

Questions families
always ask us first.

What qualifications do your caregivers have? +
Every caregiver on our team has verifiable hands-on experience working with older adults, passes a thorough criminal record check (enhanced Police Vulnerable Sector Check), and completes a multi-step reference review before their first placement. Some of our caregivers hold PSW (Personal Support Worker) certification or equivalent training — we highlight this where relevant and can match you with a certified caregiver if that’s important to your family. What every caregiver shares: a track record, a clean background check, and references we’ve personally contacted and verified.
How much of this is covered by insurance or tax credits? +
More than most families realize. Our receipts qualify for the federal Medical Expense Tax Credit, which typically returns 15–25% of the eligible amount depending on your income. Most major Ontario extended-health plans (Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, etc.) cover a portion of non-medical home care — usually $1,500–$5,000 per year per insured. We generate the receipts automatically and email them monthly so your reimbursement is one-click. We’re not accountants, so we recommend confirming the specifics with your CPA or HR/benefits team, but in practice most families recover 20–40% of what they spend.
Why do consistent visits make such a difference? +
Because the relationship between your loved one and their caregiver is where the real value of in-home care lives. A familiar face on a predictable schedule reduces anxiety, builds trust, and lets a caregiver notice subtle changes over time — the things a new person would never catch. For older adults with memory loss or anxiety, consistency isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s what makes care feel safe.
What if the caregiver isn't a good fit? +
You meet your hand-matched caregiver before your first paid visit. If it’s not right at the meet-and-greet, we re-match before any charge. And every plan includes a 14-day fit guarantee: if the first two weeks don’t feel right, we re-match free or refund the unused days. We’d rather take the time up front than have anyone in your loved one’s home who isn’t right.
Can I pause my weekly plan? +
Yes. With 7 days’ notice you can pause your plan for travel, a hospital stay, or any reason at all. We hold your caregiver’s spot for up to 6 weeks. No fees, no negotiations — just send a note to your coordinator.
Can I change my plan if my parent's needs change? +
Of course — we expect needs to evolve. You can upgrade, downgrade, or add hours at any monthly billing cycle. If a sudden change is happening (recovery, decline, hospital discharge), your coordinator can adjust immediately and we’ll true up billing.
What if I need care this week — can you start fast? +
We’re not open yet, but once we launch we aim to start care within 5–7 days of onboarding — and same-week placement for urgent situations like post-hospital discharge. Join the waitlist and you’ll be first in line when we do.
Do you provide medical care? +
No. Hearthlane provides non-medical support: companionship, personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, transportation, medication reminders. We work alongside your loved one’s nurses and doctors, but we’re not a substitute for clinical care.
What areas do you serve? +
We’re launching first in Richmond Hill and the surrounding York Region — with plans to expand across the GTA, including Oakville, Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton, and central Toronto. Not sure if we’ll cover your area? Join the waitlist and include your postal code in the notes — we’ll confirm when we reach out.
Can I start with a one-time visit before committing to a plan? +
Yes — once we launch, many families will start with a one-time visit at $45/hr (3-hour minimum) to feel out whether Hearthlane is right for them before committing to a plan. Join the waitlist to be first to know when we open.
